Wifi extender vs wifi adapter

Which would have a stronger connection and faster speed? Should i use my wifi extender and plug an ethernet cable into it. Or would a wifi adapter be better for my PC?

pcie wifi adapter works well here.

a cable would be best, but past that, just get a good pcie wifi card.

 

my usual definition of good is something that has some sort of cover (a can or a heatsink) over the important bits, and has an antenna on a wire included in the box.

neither of those are direct indications of quality, but they show the manufacturer at least thought about what they were doing, instead of going for cheaper.

look at what's available locally with an antenna on a wire and a can or heatsink over the important bits.
