Is there any difference between a good office chair and a "gaming chair"?

Mattco

Im looking for a new chair for my pc. I was wondering if i should get a good office chair or a gaming chair. I am going to be sitting in it for many hours at a time, and also streaming(aesthetic reasons). So do i get a "gaming race chair" or just a good office chair for round the same price?

Thanks for helping, Mattco

I don't think it matters, as long as it has all the features you want and has all the proper support you need. For aesthetic reasons, get a gaming race chair. I've heard good things about AKRacer's chairs, maybe give them a try.

Gaming chair like vertagear trigger 350 is basically an office chair with gaming aesthetic.

I'd just gonna buy an Office chair they are comfortable and i prefer mesh because its breathable and will always feel the same even after hours of sitting on it.

Just dont buy a racing chair, They are not design for comfort they replicate a real racing chair if your butt goes 200Miles per hour but you wont because you will be sitting there doing stuff.

Whichever is more comfortable for you. I find office chairs much more comfortable personally, and are built better at the same price point more often than not.

Office chair is gonna be the best quality for price but some people prefer how a gaming chair feels and looks. Im  happy with and old office chair that suits all my needs.

Why waste money on a "gaming" chair, just get a good quality chair. One option on the cheap is MadisonSeating, I purchased my Steelcase Leap V2 from there for about $600 cheaper than buying brand new from Amazon or Steelcase directly. It's been fantastic for 4 years without issue and MadisonSeating offers 10year warranty as well.

Now, keep in mind, I believe MadisonSeating gets refurbs that have been fixed with whatever issue they had for return, cheap and direct from the companies and resells them. That said, mine has gone 4years now without issue and is far FAR more comfortable than ANY gaming themed chair you will ever find. Looking at MadisonSeating right now one can be had for $349, or you could look at the Herman Miller Aeron for under $500 which is also a great chair. When talking Steelcase and Herman Miller though, you are actually talking about quality seating companies, so make sure to look at everything, review the chairs you are looking at as well as double check MadisonSeating to make sure you know what you are getting into with them. I've heard good and bad about them, but they are apparently good about warranty.

Yeah, I got a used Steelcase Think chair from ebay for $180. Well worth it. This thing is built like a tank. No foam to go flat either. I just wished it came in a full back version :(

I had the choice to get either a good office chair or some kind of gamer chair (Like the DX racer or Vertagear). I decided to go with steelcase because of seeing their brand before at my previous workplace (And those chairs were nice).
