Could anyone suggest a free reliable WiFi analyzer? I noticed recently that the connection to my iPad and iPhone will drop for a few seconds and then come back and I wanted to see the traffic on my WiFi, or any used devices on the WiFi.

I was going to suggest a Netgear R6400 or an ASUS RT-AC56U to use with AdvancedTomato but apparently you guys have a SICK deal on Netgear's R7000 Nighthawk router at the moment on Amazon.co.uk which is exactly what I run at home. Tomato firmware is a modified OpenWRT router OS that provides much more stability and functionality over stock router firmware, and is available here: https://advancedtomato.com/

For context, the R7000 is a bit overkill, but because it's on sale for such a great price, I really can't recommend anything lower performing, even just to save a few pounds. It can easily handle your needs now, and was actually what I setup at a prior retail store I worked at to run over 100 wireless devices at once.

They wont cause any problems with the ISP should they? 

As long as you can put your current ISP provided modem into Bridge mode, or enable IP Passthrough so the router you buy can get a public IP directly from the outside. Otherwise you can run into a double NAT situation where you might set static IPs and open ports on the router, but be unable to use them because the modem's routing/firewall is still enabled. Bridge mode is what I'd ask your ISP about.
