Coffelake's on the way

Building a rig for a pal, everything is ready, except for the 8700k (gets here Monday). Per usual im going to be bench marking and reviewing the hell out it. Does anyone have any specific requests in terms of what they would like to see tested before I hand it all over?-

I'd be interested to see how far you could push the overclock, what board is it going to be on?

Asus Strix E-gaming. Unfortunately this is the one thing that I can't do (not my cpu) and while I been overclocking for a while and if it was mine I would basically do everything up to breaking it to overclock it, building for someone else I am shooting for a 5.0 + overclock, but we shall see. The issue if that coffeelake draws lots of power and tons of heat, so we will roll the silicon lottery I guess.

You should test how high you can get the memory. z370 boards are rated for up to 4.2Ghz

Sadly we didn't get a high enough kit. Although I would be shocked if it could go that high with 6 cores, and OC on the CPU. If I get the equipment I will test it out.

So I7 8700k are shipping ?   Good news

I only got it cause I back ordered it on release date, so I got the batch that just came in, but most people are still probably a month or two out from getting it.
