Does overclocking to 75hz worth it ?

Cosmos1234

I just found out that i can overclock my 60hz monitor to 75hz.

Did anyone try this before and does it make a noticable difference ?

It's really something you should see for yourself to determine if it's noticeable. There are folks among us who aren't bothered by the difference between 30 and 60 fps, others who couldn't care less about tearing, some who don't know about back light strobing or care about viewing angles. You know what they say about opinions, so you should form your own.

If it were my display and it were capable of a 75hz overclock and stable, I'd do it in a heart beat.

75hz is night and day for me. what really sold me about a 21:9 monitor. i do complex solid modeling and it really makes it a nicer experience. also enjoy FPS gaming once again. if I update my AMD drivers it defaults to 60hz and i can tell right away, the first time i move my mouse cursor. i have to manually put 75hz in the display settings.

I tested alot re refresh rates and FPS last few months.

It is game dependant (Im a light work user and don't really care for that stuff).

This is what I found:

For FPS type gaming.

30fps - forget it
60fps - it's alright
90fps - Yes this is good
120fps - felt it, better than above
144hz - couldn't feel any difference to above

It's fairly straight forward, if your serious about a competitive edge in your FPS Gaming then more FPS the better but it is a diminishing return and very much based on your sensitivity to such things and how much your willing to invest financially to achieve such things.

Well it is better for me.

Check on my profile what monitor I'm using. Changed it from 60 to 75Hz with v-sync and I did notice difference in Overwatch. It feels better for me. Not a huge difference, but noticable. Afterall, I'm having 25% more frames than before.

I overclocked it and tested in CS:GO,GTAV,Overwatch,Battlegrounds,LoL and COD

Results:

CS:GO:Very noticeable diffrence,smoother aim.

GTAV:Unnoticeable

Overwatch:Not so much noticeable but still smoother aim

Battlegrounds:Noticeable when aiming in first person

LoL:Unnoticeable

COD:Unnoticeable

I am happy with overclocking it since i play mostly CS:GO.I noticed my aim and reaction time got better. Thank you for the replies
