PH-F140MP or PH-F140SP?

Cookybiscuit

I bought some PH-F140SP's, but the seller sent some PH-F140MP's by mistake. I intend to use them in the roof of my case as exhaust fans.

Finding reviews comparing these seems to be difficult if not impossible. A site called 'Cooling Technique' seems to have reviews comparing the two in their 120mm forms, but it's in another language so I'm not sure if they were both tested in the same way. Regardless, the MP version seems to outperform the SP version by some margin in their tests. Then again, SPCR has a review on only the PH-F140MP and considers them garbage.

Anyone have experience with both, or have a link to a comparison? Logic would dictate they would make for crappy case fans since they are advertised as being geared for static pressure, they don't seem to shift a whole lot of air even at 100%.

Thanks.

the MPs should be better through dust filters and restrictive case intakes from higher static pressure, the SPs have a little less static pressure, but move more air, good enough if you aren't asking your fan to pull air through solid panels...
