PSU Noise

Hello all.

My Cooler Master V1200 PSU makes a noise every now and then during use, and always during startup, the noise is 1 second duration, but is very disturbing, i removed the psu from the computer case and tested it in several positions, and it only makes this sound when its fan is facing down (as it mounts in the case), since the psu has fanless operation, i think that the sound may have something to do with the fan starting to run, i recorded the noise : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2kQFlbgd0A&feature=youtu.be

do you think its normal?

thanks.

I am not a fan expert but some bearings can be relubed and you could remove and replace the fan

Contact Cooler Master support to find out if it's a common issue with an easy fix, if not, they'll likely be able to replace it under warranty.

I can't find support email, I don't think they have one.

thanks for the reply but i can't find anything about email, just phone numbers and Africa isn't even there.

have you listened to the sound record, do you think it is a bearing problem like billy_mays suggested in the first reply?

Hmm, that's a bummer. Cooler Master is a large international company. I'd think they would have an email service or some form of write-in service.

I don't really know but you have a warranty on it still so it would be best to replace it regardless.
