Looking to upgrade on a college student budget

I recently built a pc but I've been noticing that it may not be enough for more demanding games (GTA5, Crysis, Overwatch) what should I upgrade and in what order should I do it?

It would be to CPU, since you already have skylake, you might wanna consider upgrading to something like an i5-7500.

Will I need a graphics card or motherboard upgrade to handle that?

Shouldn't. You might need to update your BIOS, but I'd wait until you get your new CPU and see if it works.

No, you would just need to upgrade to the latest bios for that motherboard.

This can be done easily by going to the website of that model of motherboard and download the drivers, load a USB drive up with the bios file and updating the bios in the bios by tapping the delete key while starting the computer.

The CPU does cost around $200 USD so it might take some time till you save that amount up.

If you play a lot of Overwatch the processor matters considerably more than the GPU. Like everyone else said, a new CPU is in order. A new gpu isn't necessary but will be in the future.

Kubuntu 22.10

Ryzen 7 5700X

RX 6700 XT
