4k TV as gaming monitor?

A350-941XWB

Hi

I just built myself a cool gaming rig and need a monitor for it.

I decided on a Samsung UE40KU6400 TV. I'm going to use it for casually playing flight simulator. Is it okay to use a tv instead of a monitor?

It's on sale now and only costs 425-.

Thank you in advance!

Vanness

TVs have a much higher latency and response time compared to a monitor, resulting in unwanted massive amounts of motion blur, which is NOT helpful in fast paced games. (Unless fast paced games aren't your thing). That and because of the TV's screen size, but it still has the same pixel count, you will (annoyingly) be able to see pixels with your naked eye.

I would consider an Ultrawide monitor.

I would spend your money on an Ultrawide monitor instead.

Flight simulator is not a fast paced game so it doesn't matter

I went to a shop to look at the tv standing 30cm in front of it and I couldn't see any pixels since it is a 4k tv with HDR colours

Fantastic then. HDR will look great with your sim, too. Enjoy! :)

Totally fine for flight sims

Yuppers. My R/C flight sim is just fine on a 48" 1080p TV, so if your computer can run it at 4K, you should be good to go. TVs only really suck for an FPS with really high frame rates. But hey, if you play on any console, you generally play an a TV, and it works just fine.

I have another question: Can HDMI run 60hertz at 4k?

If not, how can I run the TV at 60hz at 4k from my pc?
