need cheap ram

Need 12-16gb or cheap ram, sub $90CDN range. The two options on partpicker are discontinued which is annoying. I've been trying to look myself but it's hard as both systems I'm using have their problems.

 

- 12 to 16gb of ram

- $90 or less 

- available in Canada

- config doesnt matter. 3x4 2x6 4x4 1x8+1x4 2x8 etc.

ddr3 i think, whichever is "standard" or cheaper.

It depends on the motherboard. Ddr4 and ddr3 are are different from factors, so only one will work correctly. Which motherboard do you have?

ebay usually ships from us and can have problems but I guess ill check it out.

It's impossible to pick out ram until you know the motherboard.

Ok,  you are looking for ddr3. This is probably the cheapest you will find new -

You should look  at your local used market (like Craigslist) and try to find some used kits as well. eBay also has some good options, although eBay isn't much cheaper than new ram.

it's been discontinued. I'm just settling for 2x8 and when I get a job I'll get another set. Thanks for the help though

 

One last question. I was looking at the GIGABYTE GA-Z97-HD3 but on motherboards.specout.com it says it has no fan connectors, does that mean I can't use any fans or am I misunderstanding or do I need something extra.

According to gigabytes website, it has 2 CPU fan header and 3 system fan headers.
