Old Compaq PC worth upgrading?

I found an old Compaq PC and am wondering if it would even be possible to upgrade it or worth it. I'd love to be able to just throw some cheap parts into it and have a secondary PC to play low end games on. If not, is anything worth selling?

Thanks for any help!

I have a similar system with the exact processor, it's not worth anything at this point. Can't run Windows 7 well enough to have a good experience. You'll be making way too many compromises.

It can play videos. Trust me, my school has worse.

pentium 3, 512mb ram, so on.

use it as a htpc and install a custom so, like Mythbuntu, and there you go. 480p without any extra parts. A gpu installation and ram upgrade might bring you to 720p or even 900p

i like trains 🙂
