Monitor(s) for 2 GTX 1080's?

uacole

I have 2 1920 by 1080 27 inch monitors that are great BUT am upgrading to 2 Strix GTX 1080's on Friday. I want to upgrade my monitors as well to get a better viewing experience with my GPU's. Should I go all in and get 4k monitors or 2k monitors. I play mainly FPS'. My budget on 2 monitors is around 1000-1500.

I'd probably go two 1440p 144Hz monitors.

maybe instead of going for two 4k monitors, get a ultrawide and slap it inbetween your two current monitors? will look incredible and with nvidia surround jeesus

They are both BenQ with 1ms response time, but one is really for my ps4 and has 60hz refresh rate (BenQ RL2755HM). The other have has 144hz refresh rate (BenQ XL270Z).

so both 27 inch, https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-34UC79G-Ultrawide-Freesync-2560x1080/dp/B01N23SVS7/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1490499039&sr=8-1&keywords=34+inch+ultrawide+1ms - 1ms second bit expensive but will line up perfectly with your current monitors.

LG 34UM68 34.0" 2560x1080 75Hz Monitor - wrong ms response.

No, thats awesome! That would actually save me $400 if I just get one ultawide rather that 2 2k 27 inch.

yeah, imagine all that screen realestate. Because 27inch 1920x1080 16:9 is 34cm high, so because ultra wides are fatter and the opposite of tall (tired af) you have to get 34 inch!

unfortunately, as I found out, surround only works if all resolutions are identical over the monitors

so a central ultrawide with flanking 16:9 panels won't work

but with eyefinity, that's not a problem

haven't found any programs that work so far

and windowed would just stretch the existing image iirc

still would have more screen realestate than 2x4k/2k monitors.

yep

it's fantastic screen real estate but I'm kind of triggered that surround doesn't work for gaming

well as of current i use this actually decent 1600x900 hp x20LED monitor flanked by 1 PHILIPS 170B. I like the 4:3 for browsing internets and the 16:9 for gaming but

well its noticable, especially at higher res, and you could fit more on the screen if you would like.
