Thoughts on Gaming PC build

Hi,

I'm doing my first build soon. I have most of the money so it should only take a few more weeks. I have already posted a topic like this a few weeks ago but I have made some changes. The pc will mainly be used for gaming with a little streaming/YouTube on the side. I want it to be pretty future proof which is why I went with the slightly more expensive, newer generation stuff. The theme is the overused Red/Black because this is my first build so I haven't done anything like this before and just because to me, it looks cool. I upgraded the monitor because it seemed pretty good in terms of value. I'd like to know if I should keep it or save €100 ($110) getting a cheaper one. Any other suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Solid build. Anti static wrist bands aren't really necessary. Just plug in your PSU and touch it every so often.

I was going to do that but decided that for €10 I would eliminate the chance of getting excited and forgetting to do that then frying my GPU

Ryzen 7 isn't "not good for gaming", it just isn't the absolute best you can get for gaming.

And it isn't the best value for exclusively gaming builds.

But it is definitely good for gaming.

i5 6500 @3.2Ghz, Zotac GTX 1080 Ti Mini, 16GB DDR4 @2400Mhz, 240GB SSD, 1TB HDD, Corsair Vengance 650W, Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, Thermaltake Versa U21, Hyper 103

We don't have any benchmarks for the Ryzen 5's yet… We do know the Ryzen 7 chips aren't top-performers in games, but they do alright. Much cheaper versions going up against i5's could be a whole different price/performance story.

They'll probably still be behind in individual core performance, but if they get close enough and are cheap enough, who knows.

The MSI card is €50 cheaper and doesn't fall very far behind the Xtreme. As for the windforce, the MSI is better and only a small bit more expensive. The Gigabyte cards do look sick do.

It does. I'll consider it because I heard that it can be hard to get air flowing over the graphics card in the NZXT S340 due to the front panel

well tbh, im only just getting it soon, but from reviews on the internet they recommend that over nzxt, but every1 has different tastes, i just like the rubber grummets for cable management more than a solid metal bar, also that front panel even in acrylic, hot damn
