Media Button on Keyboard opens WMP instead of VLC

M1NTY

So I set the G8 key on my Logitech keyboard to "Open media player". This should open my default media player, VLC. Instead, it opens WMP. I found this strange since WMP isn't set as default for anything, including .cda files, which supposedly control this function. This isn't a serious problem, but is still a annoyance.

Thank you, and have a nice day!

By default, I believe open media player is set to launch WMP. This has been the case for some time now. Can you manually set your gkey to launch a specific application and point it to vlc?

You should be able to remap this to launch application and then it will launch whatever you want.

Either way you shouldnt be using VLC but MPC-HC and I just happened to have updated the files for my thread on that

No, I'm afraid not. When mapping keys, I can choose to "Open media player" but there is no option to actually choose what program it opens.
