Gainward GTX 1080 GLH, Which PSU?

Akamo

My system is currently running on an i7-4790k with the MSI GTX 970 4G.
The PSU I use is the BeQuiet Straight Power 10 (500w)

Now I would like to upgrade my GPU to the Gainward GTX 1080 GLH and I am concerned, whether or not the 500 watts will be enough to run this card without any issues.
Amazon and Mindfactory are recommending 500w for the GPU alone, which is confusing to me, because I have done a little research on different forums and many people say, that 500w will be sufficient.

Should I go for a 600-700w PSU just to be safe?

Yep, it will suffice. Do not worry. The system won't even exceed 400W of power draw.

You will be fine with the 500w. If you must upgrade, look in my signature for the PSU tier thread. Buy from Tier 1 or Tier 2 for the best, most reliable power.
