Compatibility Help! Building a new comp

I am making a new computer and I am new and bad it doing it.

"Build"

Can someone pls help and check if everything is compatible? I tried but it was pretty confusing. Also if some can suggest cheaper alternatives to parts without changing the performance by much it would be appreciated.

And if I were to change my ATX motherboard to a cheaper micro ATX then can someone suggest the motherboard and parts that would be compatible?

Dont go with amd cpu's fx series, wait for ryzen which should all be released in the next few weeks. I could put together an intel gaming pc for you right now but just wait a few weeks and then ask again, even if ryzen's lower end cpu's arent that good, intel may drop their prices a bit but we all have high hopes for the upcoming ryzen cpu's because they look awesome on paper.

yeah agree with all this.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

Don't go with AMD fx CPUs. Their single threaded peformance is really bad, so they aren't good choices for gaming. I made a quick build but AMD's new Ryzen CPUs are launching in a few weeks and it's highly possible that they could drastically lower the prices of CPUs. You probably should wait a few weeks and then come back, as doing so might either be able to save you $50-$100 or give you a 30-50% CPU performance boost. Anyhow, this is the build I made, but keep in mind the CPU and motherboard could be swapped out if Ryzen is much cheaper.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Why that CPU?

You should either get a better performing locked i5, with a cheap motherboard and no cooler (or a $20-30 if you want quiet operation), with 16GB DDR4.

Or if you insist on AMD, wait 2 weeks for the release of Ryzen (we don't know how it will perform, or how will it costs, we only know rumors).

Get a 240GB+ SSD, small ones get filled up VERY quickly, and don't perform as well. for $75 you can get a much better SSD.

Get a better PSU, that isn't a very good quality unit. The SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze is cheap and is ROCK SOLID.

-Don't invest in AMD's FX series. They're outdated and they're not good performance-wise. Either go for a Intel i5 6500/7500 or wait for Ryzen.

-120mm AIOs aren't smart investments when a similarly-priced air cooler is better. If you're rocking a locked chip, it'd be pointless to invest in such an expensive cooler.

-Get a RX 480 4GB/8GB instead of the GTX 1060 3GB.

-Get a better power supply. The Seasonic S12II is a good alternative.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

This close to a new CPU lineup release i would wait and see what Ryzen is like first before buying anything it's just not worth getting the FX series even if it wasn't this close to Ryzen's release.
