There's nothing wrong with using wifi. I'd gladly (and did) take wifi over powerline for my desktop, and I haven't had any issues -- even when playing games like CSGO.

try searching 802.11ac wireless adapter on google or amazon. There are a few adapters in that price range. Are they quality? Check out the reviews (to hash out what may be a diamond in the rough) but remember the old adages, "you get what you pay for" and "buyer beware". A little online research may save you a LOT of wasted time if done right.
