Running an Ethernet cable.

Sir Asvald

Hello guys. I'm trying to run an Ethernet cable from where the router is (kitchen) to my room. Only problem. I can't get wire through the kitchen door and up the to my room.. not enough space under it. Power lines adapter are a no go. I need straight cable to the router.

I drew a layout of the house:

I would suggest checking out this video and maybe seeing if an outside run is a plausible solution.

also if you don't want to run it outside you could use some of the same principles if you wanted to just run it through a few walls/ceilings.

There isn't enough space under the door?

Also just get a big ass drill bit and do what needs to be done

get a FLAT cable, if it won't fit under a closed door then that door is to tight to the floor.

Does your house have phone jacks in each of the rooms? I found out that my house was wired with cat 5 for phones so I just switched to RJ45 jacks and I was able to do what you are trying to do
