EVGA 500B really that bad???

I recently purchased the EVGA 500B for my build and am now wondering if it is worth getting a new PSU. My build is a i5 6600K with a gtx 1070 witch only uses 350W. I have heard that you should avoid this PSU and im wondering if its really worth shelling out the extra $80 for a better PSU just to replace my 500B? Is there really a problem with this PSU? if so what is it? It seems fine to me. My build: https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/NyCyqk

You know you can return it and just buy a better PSU, right?

That said, it's not great, no, and I would not have bought it with a GTX 1070. A GQ/B2 would have been fine, same goes for the GS/G2/G3.

For a 1050 or rx460 it would be okay, but for a GTX 1070 I would not cheap out a psu.

A power supply is a long term investment... wattage isn't the only factor in play. The quality of a power supply should arguably be prioritised. You won't realise the importance of having a good one until it dies and potentially takes out the motherboard and GPU with it.

With that said, the EVGA 500B is an incredibly mediocre power supply that shouldn't be paired with a i5 6600K and a GTX 1070. If you're going to spend $2500+ NZD, you can afford to not cheap out on the PSU and instead get a proper one.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.
