Fanless radiator

Hello everyone,i was thinking about removing 2 fans from my kraken x61 because i changed them 3 times already because of noise they make,they wear out very quickly.

I just want to know could i go fanless? I have a 6600k overclocked to 4ghz.

What would move the heat away from the radiator?

Well the heat would radiate but, not fast enough to keep it cool under load. Get better fans.

In theory, yes. You would need to drastically increase the amount of radiators in the loop however, which is not possible on a closed loop.

However I don't think you can reach this level of efficienty with standard closed loop radiators.

Yea if you want a 60lbs PC. I'd rather make an open look. Also doubt that's in his budget when he's rocking that CPU.

Yeah that's a drawback to having a fully silent PC. Didn't take into account his budget, just the premise of his question.

Guys my radiator fans were always running on 20% because I like them to be silent and nothing higher was ever needed, slightly overclocked 6600k on full load never went over 50 Celsius,idle temps around 20C sometimes even less.

So I decided to remove all fans from the pc even the radiator fans to see what happens, after reading some comments apparently it affects cooling only on big loads but since I'm never near that threshold only when benchmarking I'm gonna give it a try.

I would be very thankful if someone could stop me if I'm doing something dangerous that could damage the radiator.

When the water starts to boil at 100 degrees C your loop will burst. Not sure is the plastics can stand more than 80 degrees.

 

As for the passive radiator, use a Alphacool Cape Cora HF 442 and you are fine.

Less then 20C in idle? What is your room temp, 5C?

If your fans are wearing out, get better fans.

Noctuas have a 5 or 6 year warranty.
