Extreme frame drops while moving the mouse

Ermodo

Hey,

Since last week or so nearly every game or program drops frames (at least 30 fps (sometimes even to 0 fps)) when I move my Mouse.

I already searched for a solution and tried everything.

I have a Logitech g502, Windows 10, gtx 970, maximus VIII Hero.

Also, I would be happy if there wasn't the need of a reinstall.

I would really appreciate help.

Thanks in advance,

Ermodo

I had the same problem once. Is it in all games? Did you try searching on how to fix mouselag? There isn't really a solution that works for all computers that I know of.

Yes I searched for quite a while. Also it's only happening with my g502.

Did you try reinstalling the driver for your mouse?

Do you also get mouselag just on your desktop? What program/game is it happening in?

To make sure: The mouse is smooth, but games drop frames.

It doesn't appear to be happening on the dekstop, only if the cursor is above a programm.

Examples are Anno, Hearthstone, MS Word, Chrome

Try to remember since the problem shows first time. Then have a look which windows updates are installed at this day. Check the KB articel to this updates and try to find out if they could have something to do with it. Check also which software you installed at this time.

Bevor you do this, check if you set the energie management to perfomance. Sometimes changes with updates on the windows energie management have side effects like this. As an example. If you play a game with low cpu usage and the enegie management ist set to save maximum energie the cpu downgrades to 400Mhz which for a ms or 2 and then the game needs more power and the cpu runs at 4ghz. This could switch every 2 seconds and so your game is stuttering or the frame drops like shit.

I have exact this problem at diablo 3 half a year ago. After a driver update there was a new default engerie setting maximum power save by lenovo.

@Matias thank you for trying

I uninstalled all update except kb3176936 because this can't be uninstalled.

Power settings are normal.

I didn't install anything and already tried reverting everything else including system restore.
