Tips on increasing my house Internet Speed?

Buhzrk

So I have a 1GigaByte Per Second Internet speed..

The optical fibre cable point is downstairs, hooked to my Asus AC88U Router.

Theres a repeater going through the router and out from another repeater upstairs (which is to my computer)

The network speed downstairs is about 600MBPS but 40MBPS up here :(

Anyway I could boost the speed?

Yup, Directly plugged into the wall..

It's a TPLink TL-PA8030P Kit

that is all good. The only other thing affecting the speed would be distance the signal is traveling. The way to combat this would be to try other sockets in your room to see if that helps. The reason for this is the signal degrades quickly and therefore speed will soon vanish

Unfortunately if that does not work there is little you can do

Hmm, I see..

Thanks for your help anyways!

I highly doubt you have 8Gb/s (1GB/s), 4.6Gb/s (600MB/s), 1Gb/s (0.125GB/s) or even a 0.32Gb/s (40MB/s) internet connection.

In comparison I have a 20 Mb/s (0.02Gb/s or 2.5MB/s) internet connection.

Powerline kits are not that fantastic, they don't convert mains cables into cat5e Ethernet cables. They are not as fast as cat5e Ethernet cables. If you want the fastest possible internet speed, route Cat5e Ethernet cables through the wall.

Sorry! I mean 1GigaBit Per Second Speed xD

I live in Singapore so there is a 2GigaBit Per Second Speed plan as well...

The walls are pretty sturdy and would need a lot of renovation to route the cables through the wall...

Thanks for you advice though!

Have you watched Linus video when he visit SG?

I don't know if that will help but it's fun anyway.

Thanks for you advice though!

Your powerline kit is rated at 1.2 GigaBit/Second, 1200mbit/s but those figures are in optimal conditions. Your apartment's powerlines must have a lot of resistance to only get 40mbit/s. Have you tried the connection if nothing else is connected to powerlines. Connected lamps, TV's, appliances might cause disturbance to your powerline network kit.

If that does not fix it, buy cat 5e cables and fix them to your apartment's ceiling from router to your room.

Fixed it already, I live in a 3 Story house.

I connected a MoCA Coax adapter to Ethernet through the Coax in the walls as my house was originally designed for normal broadband

What kind of speeds are you seeing with Moca?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
