Corsair or nzxt?

Go to solution Solved by DioOmicida,

I'm going to buy a 280mm rad and I'm deciding between h110i gtx h100i and kraken x61.

I'm leaning towards kraken because it has rgb led.

So is it a good choice or are there any other 280mm coolers that you would suggest?

i actually wanted to ask as well but *adding* the neptune 280L to the comparison
at my country the coolermaster is more common than the other brands which made me guess that it might be a real bad pick if compared to other AIO watercoolers

what about the neptune 280L is it worse/better than them?

Core temperature (60 W Load)

They all perform essentially the same. But noise levels are a little different story:

They are on the louder side, yes. It could be the stock fans which could be upgraded to more silent ones.
But for those three, you'll probably want to purchase more silent fans for all of them anyways.
So noise might not even be a good comparison as well.

i'm depressed now :(
i was planning on having the neptune 280L for upcoming gaming rig since it's the cheaper in my country
knowing that it's noisy makes me not sure about it anymore
do you think it would be painful noise or just a humming noise coming out of the rig that i wouldn't notice?
i tried to find a video or something for noise test but couldn't find any with the cooler in the case :/

You'd probably expect to hear something like this around 0:25.
Keep in mind that's noise levels around 3 feet away.
So under your desk or further and it wont be very audible.
If it's cheaper I'd still get it and then possible get some better fans down the road.

I can see that the kraken is considered pretty loud.

So if I can get some quieter fans I'll be all right or is it the pump that's noisy?

Well to be far, models are all generally around the same.
That comparison is actually using the x60.
The x61 actually has better fans and a better pump.
So it should perform a tad better and the cooling department and noticeably better in the noise department.
The noise is what you'd expect from two fans and a larger pump compared to those quieter single rads at the top.

i saw that video before ,actually that's the only video i've found but i think the noise won't be that loud if the cooler was inside a case
nevertheless, thanks for all the info i really needed it ^_^

Not to mention if you put headphones on. Everyone else in the house are the only ones who'd have to suffer. :P
