Win 10 system lags during downloads

Cyborgsmith

Hey all,

So the issue is fairly simple

My system is

Msi M5 mainboard

6700k

GTX970

Whenever I go to download something be it a steam download or even just Netflix streaming my system lags like crazy.

This has only started to happen  in the last week,  ever since I upgraded my Internet connection (75mb/s)

Any thoughts?

I've run all my updates and the like.

Thanks in advance.

It could be that your HDD is saturated?

Which HDD do you have ?

How old is it?

How much of its capacity is filled up?

The problem lies with the HDD for sure. To confirm, check to see if disk usage is pinned at 100% throughout the download time using task manager

Please vote for Donald Trump. I am out of sitcoms to watch.

When lyfe gives you HDDs, make SSDs

Spoiler

Is it the whole system or just the browser? Sounds like an isp problem to me.

I am a paid professional, but only when I am at work...and getting paid.

Yup disk usage is pinned at 100% on my boot drives (raid0 array)

Even when I'm downloading directly to another drive in the system.

What process is actually using up all the HDD resources though?
