(Air) Fans for Case cooling and for H100i radiator

I am a bit undecided about which case fans and radiator fans to choose from, so I hope I will get some good advice from the community.

Although, belive me, I apreciate everyone's input (as long as it's on topic and not just spam) .. Linus, i hope, if you stumble upon this thread, to get your input also.

The case i want to cool is the Corsair Carbide Air 540, and the (CPU cooling) radiator will be the Corsair Hydro H100i.

The Air 540 case comes with 2x Corsair AF140L intake fans (front) and 1x Corsair AF140L exhaust fan (back); as for the H100i, it comes with 2x Corsair SP120L fans.

I plan on replacing all these fans, and you'll understand why in a minute (if you haven't fallen aspleep yet and you bear with me and keep reading).

So my desired fan setup will be:

  • for the case: 3x 120mm fans intake (front) and 1x 140mm fan exhaust (rear),
  • for the radiator: 4x 120mm fans in a 2+2 push-pull setup.

My fan choices are:

  • for the case: 3x Corsair AF120 Performance edition High Airflow .. or .. Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition High Airflow for intake and 1x Corsair AF140 Quiet Edition High Airflow for exhaust,
  • for the radiator: 4x Corsair SP120 High Performance Edition High Static Pressure .. or .. Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition High Static Pressure in a 2+2 push-pull setup.

I would have included the Noctua NH-F12 and the NF-P12 fans, but, as I said above, I am replacing the existing fans with new retail ones from Corsair for the color ring customization option it provides, alowing me to mod my case, and the Noctua fans, even though they are good ones, they don't look as good with the case, and my intended mod.

So, what I really want you guys to help me decide is whether if is it worth sacrificing some significand amount of Airflow and Static Pressure for the lower Noise the Quiet Edition Fans provide(?). I attached below some stats Linus obtained while testing these fans (as he said in his video, the Noise results are just a "relativ comparison" because they weren't obtained in a sound chamber .. but still, they are very close to the truth of it, even though, some Noise numbers provided by the manufacturers are quite diffrent from these tested ones).

I hope i'm not influencing anyone's opinion, but i am inclined to choose the Corsair AF120 Performance edition High Airflow and the Corsair SP120 High Performance Edition High Static Pressure, and not the Quiet Edition fans.

BTW, .. with 3x 120mm fans for intake and 1x 140mm fan + 4x 120mm fans (in a 2+2 push-pull setup) for exhaust will I have Negative or Positive Pressure inside my case?

I want to avoid Negative Pressure, so .. do you think that adding either 2x 140mm (in the bottom of the case) or 3x 120mm (behind the already existing 3 fans in front) will solve the Negativ Pressure problem?

Please reply if you can help me with my indecisiveness.

Thanks to all who made it this far by reading my boring-ass-long post.

tbh if you are happy getting Noctuas then I would suggest getting them for all places in your build. You will have a very quiet computer that way as I am guessing you care about the noise of your machine.

I care about the noise my system will produce only to the extent of having good airflow inside my case and good static pressure for my radiator.

Also i know noctua has good fans, .. but the "ugly" colors made me take them off the list altogether, they will not go with my mod at all.

Thanks for the reply and for voting though.

Corsair fans aren't exactly quiet. If you want quiet and looks, look at Rosewill Hyperboreas, CM Sickleflows, Gelid Solutions, and Prolimatech Pros.
