Xeon vs. i5 for NAS

Redfern

Hello, I was just wondering what is better a Xeon W3250 and a X58 Motherboard or an i5 4440 and a H81 Motherboard? I will be using this for the basic NAS needs and multi-channel Ethernet cables, thanks!

The i5 will serve you well. Also should have a lower power draw if I remember the Xeon correct.

Will not having 8 threads effect performance? Thanks for the input :D

If that is all this system is going to be used for I'd suggest something like a second generation i3 and a h61 board. It'll be cheaper than both and work equally well.
