Safe temps for HDD's

Hey! I put my server in the closet, and the temps have rised on the HDD's. Is it safe?

Or should I worry? When the server is beign written og read from the drives are getting at almost 50 degrees.

61/65 might be a tad too high.

they're most likely bearable temps but temps rarely seen by consumer hard drives that rarely break 50, usually hanging around the 30-40s

 

I'd probably not shut the closet door entirely to let some air cycle through

max operating range is 0-60*C
recommended is 38-45*C

Just to let you guys know, the temps in the 60-70Deg range is actually the "Temperature from 100DegC", not the actual hard disk temp itself. The hard disks temps itself are around 30-40.

They look fine. But that's a weird program, why does it report half at their current temps and others at 100-x?

 

Generally try and keep them bellow 50 and you should be alright.

Its the sensor, I've seen it happen with different kind of hardware.

I am using Pulseway. Those drives showing 60 is 40. 100-60=40.

And I only have 1 fan, 12 year old case...

30-40C is fine. And if I get it the app lists the temperature DIFFERENCE? Why couldn't it just list the actual temp like it did with some drives?

HDDs need to be tempered for lubrication. They say recommended temperature is 35-45 or so, but even 50-60 is way better than 25-30.
