Some sort of malware in chrome

Did you look for root kits?

I seem to have gotten some malware in chrome. I get random popups, and I get redirected when I click on a webpage. I have already scanned my computer with antivirus, reset chrome's settings, reinstalled chrome, and run the chrome cleanup tool. I don't really know what to do to get rid of this malware. Any suggestions?

It's a chrome independent malware likely, look in your Control Panel and set it to "Install date", then uninstall what ever looks weird.

It can be quite basic and injects it self every time chrome starts. Or lower level and interact with the traffic it self.

Either way, once they get in, it's hard to rid of.

Let's try the automated way of dealing with this first.. if that doesn't work we will remove some deep registry keys.

Try completely uninstalling all parts of Chrome and then reinstall...

Before proceeding.. make a backup of your Registry..
Press the Windows key + R, type regedit.exe and press Enter
Click on "My Computer" then click "File" and then "Export". Then "File" then "Exit".

Use Task Manager to "Kill" all instances of Chrome.exe...

  B) Note: Make sure you have another browser on your computer (i.e. FireFox) that works.
Try completely removing all parts of Chrome with Spyhunter 4 (run it in Windows Safe Mode and do the scan several times to make sure) ... then reinstall Chrome Stable.
