Monitor suggestions?

Ghostay
Go to solution Solved by ThinkWithPortals,

I've just added it as a placeholder, i'm just open for suggestions against it, Do you think the LG widescreen will be much smaller, as that's what's putting me off it, but it does have freesync and is £70 cheaper.

To be honest, the one that's there pretty much looks like the best you could get in that price range. If we're thing about the same LG widescreen (29 inches?) than it's the same height as a 24 inch normal monitor, so that's for you to judge whether you can deal with the reduced height. Bear in mind that the LG widescreen will be easier to run games on than a 1440p monitor (2560x1080 vs 2560x1440)

So, i'd like to purchase a monitor, the budget is around £200-£300 and is for this build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/kYdP4D

I'd like an IPS display, over 26", freesync is a bonus, and a resolution of 1440P, I was originally happy with a widescreen LG for £220 with freesync, but didn't like the fact that it wasn't very tall, might just me being picky, but that would be perfect if it was taller.

Cheers

i know its not monitor related but for £20 more wouldnt an investment into maybe 16gb of ram be worthwhile, especially if you are spending £1000+ on the build?

I plan to do that at a later date as I don't really use alot of RAM, but I might consider it if the monitor is cheaper.

Yeh, we're thinking about the same monitor, I think I can live with the height of a 24" monitor, thanks; I expected it to be about the same height as my 17.6" laptop, *Facepalm*

Cool.

Hey! I was just researching the same thing! Same res and budget for my rig!

Here are some of the options I found.

http://www.amazon.com/Dell-P2416D-Monitor-23-8-Inch-Screen/dp/B00ZFFN656

-24" but everything else

http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-STAR-DP2710-LED-27-2560x1440-Samsung-PLS-Glossy-/330932579690?hash=item4d0d1e6d6a:g:k8QAAOxyk99R250Y

-27" but also everything else

http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.KG7AA.002

-25" man I'm hitting everything but 26!

http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-25UM55-P-25-Inch-Desktop/dp/B00LPRUX36

-not 1440, not 26" but 21:9 which is good for multitasking.

The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox at TAS levels of perfection. Because of this, the winner of a match depends solely on port priority. The RPS metagame has evolved to ridiculous levels due to it being the only remaining factor to decide matches.

Only Abate, Axe, and Wobbles can save us.

Nice, thanks for taking the time to copy them out, the Qnix like one doesn't ship to the UK, but the Dell is an interesting one, thanks! Good luck with your search.

No problem. My personal decision at this point might be the 21:9 because I do a lot of CAD but I'm not completely sure.
