Dell Xps 400 Cpu Upgrade. Will it Work?

i just bought a q6700 on ebay and i want to make sure it works. Will the q6700 work with an old dell xps 400 desktop's oem motherboard? and its the correct socket114948-dell-xps-400.jpg?thumb=y

 

P.S. i posted this before but i wanna make sure i didnt waste 40 bucks

This is a really iffy situation.  A lot of time OEM motherboards/BIOS WILL NOT accept a non OEM CPU.  I know I tried to upgrade a few older HP's and Acer computers and they simply WILL NOT work with a CPU that didn't come from them originally.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

You can only see if it works now.  I see no reason why it wouldn't unless the computer you bought is outright broken.

It may require a BIOS update, but it should work just fine.

I dont think it will work

 

All the dell xps 400's i found only support up to a pentium D

 

I dont think the chipset will support C2d or c2Q  :(
