The UK now uses a digital based signal to broadcast TV so as long as you have an adapter for the power and a "Freeview Box" you should be fine as far as I know.

A lot of newer TVs have this digital reciever built in but older TVs do not. You can however simply purchase a box such as http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goodmans-Freeview-Automatic-Retune-Digital/dp/B005F5C3Q4/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-theater&ie=UTF8&qid=1373556934&sr=1-1

for example which will convert your current TV into being able to recieve a digital signal. These boxes also only need to be plugged into either a scart socket etc as well as power.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?
