Getting "out of range" error on Asus monitor in many fullscreen games

So I just built my first rig, and purchased a monitor too.

Now this isn't a problem I have with all games (such as Split Second), but many (such as Crysis).

These games can run all sorts of resolutions in windowed mode, but the moment I go to fullscreen on any of them, the monitor shits itself and goes black, showing the words "out of range".

In fact some games (such as LEGO Pirates of the Carribean) don't work at all, and the monitor gives an "out of range" error on launch.

Anyone have an ideas what could be the issue? I've tried inenabling/disabling Vsync but to no effect.

My monitor is the ASUS VN248: 60 Hz, 1080p, HDMI. The GPU is a 280. Running an HDMI link.

Cheers

Try running games with vsync on, or off if it is already on.

As I said, changing Vsync does not appear to affect anything, not in Crysis 1 at least.

out of range error usally means screen resolution not supported

what screen res are you setting in games

does full screen work on any other res (such as 1280x720, 1360x768, 800x600, 1024x768)

have you tried using a diffrent hdmi cable

have you tried using vga

Well I try to set it too 1920x1080, cause that's what the monitor is, but fullscreen doesn't work on any res on these games.

I'll try another hdmi cable.
