i7 2600k benefits

CPU: Intel Core i3 3220
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6570

I have had an i7 2600k in my PC for a bit over a year now. For those who are savvy: what more am I getting out of the 2600k over something like the 2500k?

More performance in programs that can use lots of threads such as video editing programs and Folding at Home.

When I built my computer I was going to get the 2500K, but ended up getting the 2700K because those extra threads might come in handy during video editing and maybe in the future, when games will be able to use the extra threads.
