Upgrade to a newer card or go Crossfire?

I have a ASUS 7970 TOP, and I am not sure if I should upgrade to a newer card like the 290, or to just pick up another 7970 and go Crossfire...

PS. Power Supply is capable to run multiple cards

I would say 7970 Crossfire, 7970 crossfire beats the 980 so I would go for it :)

Are you unhappy with your current graphics performance? If not, stick with your 7970. its still a beast card. Maybe wait for the AMD 300 series release.

If your upgrade wish is more urgent, i'd shoot for a single gtx 970.

who cares...

dual 7970's are pretty strong so it would be a good option and it would be cheap to do as long as your PSU can support it, or you could hold out to see what comes from AMD's new lineup.

If you really want more performance right now I'd go crossfire. Upgrading to a single R9 290 or GTX 970 will only yield like a 20% or maybe 30% increase in FPS (and +1GB of VRAM). Crossfire should easily give you 50+% more performance across the board. The usual caveat when it comes to crossfire still applies though.
