Apple may grovel back to Samsung for future display production

Looks like Apple might have to go back to Samsung on their knees if they want to get displays for their future products.

 

If anyone remembers, Apple ditched Samsung in favor of LG to provide them with displays but it seems that they may be forced to go back since Samsung is more capable to keep up with the amount needed.

 

 

Korean site ETNews.com is reporting that Apple would resume purchasing LCD's from Samsung Display, as the South Korean giant are better equipped to keep up with Apple's high demand

 

Did Apple really think they can just push away a company that is a major source for many components that they need? Heck, nearly every flash you see are from Samsung alone. Looks like for thin displays, they are as well.

 

 

As the thin glass process was adopted to the production of touchscreen panels, the related industry is expected to show stiff growth every year - there are very few Japanese or Taiwanese competitors in the thin glass market.

 

The industry is guessing that one of the reasons Apple decided to come back to Samsung Display is because of the thin glass. Samsung Display's thin glass vendors have made a very visible growth in the industry, because Samsung Display, unlike LG Display, relies on its vendors for most of the thin glass processes.

apple better stop sueing samsung and playing nice, otherwise samsung will make all the money that apple stole from them by charging them 5X the normal price for the raw materais.....

They could do that but then again money can be made by just charging them more for it.
