amazon.com vs .ca shipping

as a canadian resident will I be dinged any extra besides exchange rates and shipping when shopping on amazon.com vs the amazon.ca websites?

Could be charged duties, brokerage fees, and/or taxes. Got to be careful. Those add up fast and can be worth more than the item itself sometimes.

Last time I checked amazon.com wouldn't ship anything to Canada.

yes, I'm extremely careful about shipping ever since I was charged an extra $80 for a clutch which was basically the savings for shopping online. UPS is the evil one that charges bullshit brokerage fees based on a % of the product price or something. shipping via USPS has never charged me anything extra. 

 

the price differences between .ca and .com is crazy. I'll try ordering some small things like an HDMI cable or coffee press.

Amazon.com won't ship to a Canadian address. I've tried.  :(

I have ordered several things from Amazon.com when .ca doesn't carry them. It usually says in the item description "does not ship outside US" something along those lines, just depends on the item but they do in fact ship to Canada.
