5750 X-fire still worthy?

Johnjdpower

First of all I would like to say "Hello" as this is my first day being on the forums.

I am rebuilding my pc and am wondering if my 5750s in X-fire is still good enough for all of the newer games? My only issue with trying to sell my 5750s to upgrade, is the fact that I won't get much money for them (approx $50-75 for both on ebay) and will have to spend a lot out of pocket for a nicer card. So I was hoping someone could point me to a more up-to-date single GPU that will outperform my 5750s without breaking the bank. Or if I should save up and buy a nicer single-gpu?

Basically, let me break down my upgraded build:

CPU: i7 3770k

Mobo: DZ77GAL-70K

Cooler: H100i

RAM: 4x4gb Vengeance 1600Mhz

Hard Drives: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD (OS), Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM (Data), Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM (Data), Barracuda 2TB Green 5900RPM (Data)

Soundcard: Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Pro

PSU: Coolmax 750W 80Plus Bronze

Case: HAF 922 (non USB 3.0 front, purchased 3.5" front banel USB 3.0)

Optical: HP DVD1260

Note: I am connecting 2 monitors (22-inch) to this setup.

Any help or ideas on my build and GPU situation is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If your really against buying a new graphics card then the 5750 crossfire shouldn't be too bad.

this review shows that performance of the 5750 crossfire is usually between the 5850-5870 both of which are still decent gaming graphics cards.

so if you already have both 5750's I'd say holding onto them for a while won't hurt you, just upgrade when you feel that they aren't doing it anymore.

Id still aim to get a gtx 660ti as they do have an excellent price to performance ratio, but if money is tight id recommend saving and seeing what comes out of AMD's 8000 series or maybe by summer Nvidia's 700 series

X79A GD65 (8D), 3820, 7770, 16GB (1600Mhz cas9), 850watt(ocz zx), storm trooper, h100, xonar xense, sp2500, pc350, asus PA248Q LG 22'' ips, razor black-widow ultimate 2013, 120GB intel 520 series 128GB crucial M4 2*3TB barracuda 2*1TB barracuda 2TB Hitachi

Thanks for another option with the GTX 660ti it is definitely a consideration for the near future (tax return time).

Just keep saving for a faster single card.

Any thoughts of a nicer single card? I am trying to get the most out of my 3770k and SSD.

Umm, good question. Probably about $200-300 and then use the money for selling my 5750s to add on to this saved amount.

then I'd go for something like a 7970

or if thats above your budget a 7950 is also great.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I appreciate the honesty provided on this forum :) I will take these options into consideration when looking for a new GPU.
