Will this cable support 144hz?

So the included HDMI cable with my new Samsung 144hz monitor is not showing a 144hz display option on the nvidia drivers option. I am still running a GTX 770 but should be able to hit 120hz. What resolution is the monitor? From what I can find, the gtx 770 has an hdmi 1.4 port on the back. So unless it is 1080p, it wont support 144hz with any cable.

1440p monitor, but ill be getting a 2070 super in a few weeks.

Then you will need to use the dvi or display port to reach 144hz output.

Looks like I made a mistake. DVI Dual link only supports 144hz at 1080p. You will need hdmi 2.0+ or display port 1.2+ for 144hz 1440p. Your card should have a dp 1.2 or 1.3 port which you can use. Your monitor most likely came with a display port cable you can use so you don’t have to buy one.

You need to use DisplayPort then, the HDMI port on the GTX 770 only supports 1080p 144 Hz, The RTX 2070 will support 1440p 144 Hz over HDMI.
