Atx or Micro-Atx?

I had a question...

I want to build a gaming pc for around 900 euro's (Netherlands) and I was wondering if I should go for the B550m aorus pro or the B550 aorus pro, because the B550m will save me around 50 euros, but will it have an impact on the performance?

As long as you don't need the extra expansion slots or features the ATX version offers, you'll get the same performance out of a mATX board.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Fedora 38 x86_64

Secondary: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, 16 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Fedora 38 x86_64

Server: AMD Athlon PRO 3125GE, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 ECC, TrueNAS Core 13.0-U5.1

Home Laptop: Intel Core i5-L16G7, 8 GB 4267 MHz LPDDR4x, Windows 11 Home 22H2 x86_64

Work Laptop: Intel Core i7-10510U, NVIDIA Quadro P520, 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, Windows 10 Pro 22H2 x86_64

Generally micro atx only gives up pcie expansion slots and is a great way to save money.

I would suggest looking at the MSI B550 Tomahawk or Mortar.

If you want a cheap board thats still excellent for nearly all systems, I would suggest the MSI B550 pro vdh, ASRock B550m Pro 4, MSI B550 Bazooka or MSI B550 A pro

what are you powering? because these are two different boards (at least in terms of the vrm). but the matx should handle an 8 core and even a 12 core just fine.

budget for a board and what are you powering?

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Do you mean CPU and GPU? If so I'm using the Ryzen 5 3600 with the Sapphire Pulse RX 5600 XT

yea, both will power it just fine.

as for b550 as a whole, the aorus pro is great, the matx is worse but will power a 6 core just fine, also consider the mortar and the a pro which are good.

Thank you so much!

What do you mean with "just fine"? Will it run OK or great? (if you understand what I'm saying)
