10900k wont OC ram up to 4000mhz

I tried two different kits with the exact specs and manufacturer. Not stable at 4000mhz. It can only be stable at 2933mhz.

Ram: G.Skills 17-17-17-37 @1.35v (4x8GB)

Motherboard: Asus extreme

PSU: 1200w plat

 

I tried to manually feed more voltage to the ram up to 1.40v to no avail.

Update your BIOS, try bumping the VCCIO and VCCSA to ~1.25V, and try bumping the DRAM voltage to 1.4-1.45V. Try both XMP I and XMP II.

If none of that does anything, I'd chalk it up to the fact that your memory kit is not on the board's QVL, so you'll need to do some manual tinkering.

well technically anything over 2933 is an overclock and is not guaranteed. 

but the imc should handle it just fine, set the vccio/sa to 1.2-.1 and try also try updating the bios.

It's not on the Maximus XII Extreme's QVL.

Itll run it. Just needs a little memory training.

 

Gotta bring the board up to spec slowly. 

Set XMP, manually set 3600mhz, probably post right up.

 

Gotta wait on the board though. Sometimes it takes a minute and even it may multiple restart. That's normal.

 

Mine aren't on the QVL either. They work fine.

Try lower MHz til it boots? Sometimes mobos or CPU does not play ball with RAM... :<
