That would be about the only case that would make sense. But at that point, you've got a lot of people on 300-series boards. I'm not saying it won't be a thing, but the rending of garments and gnashing of teeth with the initial AMD announcement that Zen 3 wouldn't be supported was not representative of reality. Most of those people that wanted to burn AMD to the ground, will probably end up sitting on their chips until they replace their boards anyways. That's how these things go, though.
