Moving from Apple

So, I currently have an exclusively Apple setup but want to move to a PC base as I'm looking to do some gaming, mainly Flight simulator and X-Plane with some Battelfied V / CS Go, the daytime use is development so it's code editors and spotify.

I already have a keyboard and mouse I'm happy with and want to love to a single widescreen monitor.

I've looked around and put together the following parts list but would appreciate any thoughts / tweaks / replacements y'all can suggest.

My Max budget is £2500 UK, this list comes in £150 under budget so there is some wriggle room.

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX2070 Windforce 2 X2 Rev 3

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900X

Mobo: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master

Ram: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro Black 2X8 3600mhz

Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB

Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i  Platinum

Case: Corsair iCue 220t

PSU: Kolink Enclave 600W

Display: MSI Optix Mag341CQ

Are you sure you need this? You could go for a 3700x and a better graphics card... unless your programs take a long time to compile or are particularly CPU intensive you probably have no use for the extra cores.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

Thanks for the reply, moving to the 3700x gives me about £770 for GPU, any recommendations?

You don't need to downgrade. Just get rid of the unneeded stuff like the AIO

You can get a 2080 super for that. You can fit a 2080ti in your budget with the adjustments @5x5 suggested but I still question if the 3900x is worth it for you - you can just save the money.

The one from 5x5 is a great config, I would also try to get a 2080Ti for that budget and for flight sim.

Not sure for Battlefield and the upcoming Flight Simulator but for CSGO and X-Plane you would probably get slightly better performance with an Intel chip since they rely more on single thread performance.

However I also think Ryzen is overall a better choice, your system will be more flexible for other uses.

Funnily enough CS:GO performs better on Ryzen :D - Source REALLY prefers IPC it seems.
