I want to sell my 4k for a 1080p

I have a DELL P2715Q and want the MSI Optix G24C, I cant run games on 4k (I have an RX580) and miss the refresh rate of 144hz. I plan on selling my monitor for $210 US and buying the other monitor for around $180- 200. I love vibrant colors more than anything in a monitor. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions before i do this.

I am selling on FB marketplace.

I wouldn't go back to 1080p

1440p 144hz aren't that much more and a much better middle ground.

that monitor also isn't likely to have amazing colors given it is dim and a VA panel

Is there a 1440p 144hz monitor i could get for the same price of around $200?

I had another with much higher brightness and ips, Acer VG270, for $200 i was considering aswell.

Rx580 can’t even do that with games though.  It CAN do it with video.  My personal move would be keep the 4k for non game stuff and merely run games at 1080p. 

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

all down to what game. I own a 580 myself and it does well at 1440p even near max but most of my games are a few years old

I couldn’t get smooth movement in fallout4 at 1440p with mine.  It does depend on the game though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Dunno.  Can’t test it anymore.  Win10/AMD drivers (not sure which) made my old wuxga 144hz monitor non functional.  Thing is a paperweight now.  I’m using an even older 1080p monitor now.  At least they didn’t turn off hdmi.

Fallout 4 tends to be buggy on PC. Runs okay at 1080p with a 580.

 

But people are going back and forth on 1080/1440p when OP was asking about 1080p. A 580 can run at 1080 usually at 75-100fps for me on high settings, sometimes higher if I'm lucky. I don't hit 144fps on anything but the simplest/older of games. In fact, I think I have the monitor they're looking at. Works well enough for the hardware.
