Can I use GTX 1650 with these system specs?

Xtorsam

I have previously asked my question but I did not perfectly understand the answers. Sorry for reposting.

specs:

Gigabyte X299X Designare 10G Motherboard

10900X CPU
G.skill trident z royal (4 x 16 GB) RAM

256 GB Samsung M.2 SSD

can I use GTX 1650? Or only the RTX 20 series are compatible with my system? HOW CAN I EXACTLY CHECK FOR COMPATIBILITY? is physical dimensions the only factor?

Basically, any PCI-e GPU will work but what's your intended use? Workstation? Gaming?

if it has a PCIe connector you can use any GPU.

If it has a PCI-e x16 connector, then yes. Some of the shorter connectors are not able to make some GPUs functional, especially if they are PCI-e bus powered.

true. tho looking at pinout of PCIe express standard, they all have the same 12v pinout. the bigger connectors adding 3.3v aswell.

so unless you need 3.3v, then you should be fine, tho you are probably correct.

Indeed, though the point is academic, as he already has a motherboard with the right slot on it.
