Can't trigger OSD on 4K Samsung Monitor

RedReding

Hi all,

I'm desperately trying to trigger the OSD on my Samsung Monitor (Samsung 32-inch UR590C UHD 4K LU32R590CWNXZA) in order to swtich between HDMI and Display Port sources.

My HP Envy computer doesn't get detected when I connect it through USB-C to DisplayPort with the adequate cable so I'd like to enter the display's OSD to select the source manually.

I had that problem before and the problem got solved by itself when I connected my PS4 through HDMI, suddenly my LED light turned blue (was off priory) and I was able to access the OSD.

But this time, even performing a "hard reset" pressing the OSD button for 10 seconds doesn't do the trick.

Any thoughts ? It's driving me crazy ha.

Best

Red

Of course not.  How can it join the order of saint Dominic if it’s not already a Dominican monk?

seriously though there’s even more than 2 definitions of OSD that are computer related

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSD

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

There is a small joystick behind the screen (i think on the right side).

From there you enter in to the monitor menu.

I know that obviously haha, that's why I said that when I press the jog button nothing happens.

It sounds like a GUI issue for the bios of a particular model of TV.  kinda specific hardware specific.  This sounds like a job for Samsung tech support.   Or at the very least the manual for the thing.  Samsung tech support may be unreachable of course.  I’ve had terrible problems trying to deal with crossover tech support.  My Korean is worse than terrible and I’ve got a monitor that was never sold internationally.

Thanks a lot for your answer even though it doesn't help me much.Such a frustrating problem. I guess i'll just wait and hope till the blue LED turns on by itself again so that I can access the OSD again (no idea why it should be related though)
