Can I use use AUX cable instead of TRS for microphone?

I got Boya BY-MM1 mic. It came with male to male TRS and TRRS cables. TRS works when I plug it into the microphone plug on my desktop. No other combination works. Would it work if I just bought a male to male AUX cable? Included cables are way too short.
