anyone have MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus Motherboard?

looking at picking this board up to go with a 3600x. what ram and ram speeds have you had luck with? im considering some gskill ripjaw v 3600 but if the board can handle faster its a consideration

I’m pretty sure this board is absolute trash. I’d recommend the X570 TUF Gaming around that price point

 

EDIT: and for new ryzen 3600 ram is the general recommended sweet spot

Then every list you looked at is worth a black list. It should be alright up to the 8 core 3800X, more is a no no. Considering the price over the Asus X570-P and much worse performance, the MSI board should not be recommended.

yup. among TUF boards on AM4, the X570 TUF Plus (and Wifi version) is the only good one

I used this exact board for 2 days this week and it was trash in my experience. Some case fans wouldn't start up properly.  It had a "Start-stop-start" rhythm whenever it turned on.  It hardware reserved half my RAM when using all 4 DIMMS.  Clunky, difficult to navigate BIOS that was treating a bunch of USB and CD drives as bootable things in the boot priority manager despite me not even having a CD drive installed.  I had to go into the advanced Boot Options menu to actually see my M.2 and HDD as boot options.

 

It's possible I got a particularly bad run's board but I strongly, strongly recommend against this specific mobo after the grief it gave me.  I'd expect you'd get some problem like the M.2 slot running at SATA speeds or something.  I switched to an ASUS Prime X570 Plus I had bought as a backup and in comparison, everything actually works as intended.  It can actually use 4 sticks of the same RAM!
