CPU and mobo compatibility question

Xtenchen

Hey all I'm about to upgrade my CPU tommrow from a i5 2400s 2.5ghz CPU to an Intel core i7-2600 SR00B 4.30GHz

Altho I'm using an old outdated mobo:

intel desktop board dq67ow https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/51999/intel-desktop-board-dq67ow.html

Im wondering if the new CPU will work with it they are both lga 1155 slots

P. S I also have 16gb ram, a Corsir cx430 psu, and a Gtx 950 ooc

Q67 motherboards are compatible with the 2600 so you're good

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I mean, it sounded like he was already waiting on it arriving at his house so the worst part about his reaction - for me - is that like silly people he thinks its other peoples fault that he ordered something, that HE cant install.

Did you break something? Put it in wrong?  Buy it used and get ripped off and blame us?  Bust your own mobo socket?  I mean, it works.  This is what we call an "OE" or Operator Error - that is if the hardware just isn't broke which could be the case because Im sure you didn't buy this new.  And if its broke, we didn't do it (you or the seller did).

Per the normal ambience of the forum I agree - we can help him if only he helps himself first.
