Will a 240mm radiator be enough to cool

After installing a 240 for the cpu i can happily say it is running at 4.2 at 1.375 volts. The system no longer crashes out on cinibench r20 and can even run aida 64 now with both cpu and fpu tests running without any crashing. On a kraken x52 240 it sits at a happy 85c on aidas stress test running fpu and cpu.

Gotcha - I didn't think about lower than boost all core OC's (Im not interested in those lol), Im only interested in higher than boost all core OC's lol

Have you see the tests where they run current gen cpus without a heatsinks? They never melt down and they don't black screen. They just drop their frequency and voltage so much they don't melt which kills performance, but not the chip.

So by this I didn't mean overclocking doesn't help. I have said the gains for the effort are minimal and some times are on par with what xfr would have given.

Also take into consideration that every motherboard may react to over heating differently. Mine has no options in the bios to set a temp target. The cpu ran cool and i dint have this issue until i put a 120mm rad in the front for my gpu and it changed the pressure in the case. I just ordered a nzxt 240mm aio and a 45gram tube of mx-4.

Different motherboards can do things differently, but this isn't something they have wiggle room on. This would be a pretty firm spec that would need to be upheld.

How the hell did you get it to 4.2 with a kraken?  I have a x52 kraken and a 2990wx and the best I could do was 3.9.. but then the temps hit high 70s c and it freezes. What thermal paste did you use?  I always assumed the x52 wasn't good as it doesn't fit the chip as good as an aio with a bigger plate.
