xbox controller not recognized

my WIRED Xbox 360 controller is not working on my PC

one day it just stopped working

iv'e installed drivers for it and it still doesn't work

when i connect it to the PC it starts blinking for 1 second and then turning off

any ideas?

does the actual controller work? Did you plug it into anything else to check?

yeah works on my xbox 360

if the controller needs drivers are you running it on an os that doesnt have native support for it?

i have windows 10 it should recognize it automatically and install the drivers automatically

it didn't work when i had windows 7 too

i installed the drivers but then t stopped working

Did you install Xbox 360 Software? I believe it's required so the game can recognize it.

Which isn't required for windows 10 as it has native support for it and games will pick up the controller without issue (I have a wired xbox 360 controller which I have used in windows 10).
